Embark on an unforgettable gorilla tour and African safari adventure with us! Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you'll be warmly welcomed by a professional English-speaking driver-guide from Home to Africa. They'll escort you to your pre-booked accommodation, where you can check in and take a well-deserved rest to recover from your journey and adjust to the local time. If you arrive early and are eager for some activity, consider adding an optional excursion (at extra cost) to either: a) Explore the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, home to a variety of primates and birds, or b) Visit Mabamba wetland in search of the elusive shoebill stork. Alternatively, simply relax and unwind at your accommodation.
Following breakfast, we'll embark on a scenic drive to Lake Mburo National Park, a hidden gem nestled conveniently along the highway connecting Entebbe/Kampala to western Uganda's parks. Despite being the smallest savannah National Park in Uganda, Mburo boasts an impressive array of wildlife, including 350 bird species and an assortment of animals such as giraffes, zebras, impalas, elands, buffaloes, Defassa waterbucks, hippos, and the elusive leopard. Upon arrival, we'll check in and take a leisurely break. Later, around 3 or 4 pm, we'll venture out on a thrilling late-afternoon-to-evening game drive to explore Mburo's diverse inhabitants.
Start your day with an early breakfast, then embark on an exhilarating morning bush walk in Lake Mburo National Park, accompanied by an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger-guide. This guided walk offers a unique opportunity to encounter an array of wildlife up close, including zebras, giraffes, elands, topi, antelopes, and cape buffaloes. After this thrilling experience, return to your accommodation for checkout and then head out on the scenic drive to Bwindi National Park, a renowned habitat for mountain gorillas in Uganda, home to over 300 individuals, roughly half of the world's population. With a challenging day ahead, take it easy on arrival, check-in to your accommodation, and unwind as you prepare for the unforgettable Bwindi gorilla trekking experience tomorrow.
Today's the day you've been waiting for on this affordable African safari! Start with breakfast, then head to the rangers' post for a briefing from a knowledgeable ranger-guide on the essential guidelines for gorilla trekking. Afterwards, venture into the stunning rainforest, where you'll embark on an unforgettable adventure. The forest's breathtaking beauty, with its dramatic, steeply forested landscape and numerous animal trails, sets the stage for an exhilarating experience. The trek's duration (4-8 hours) and terrain will vary depending on the movements of these incredible primates. Once you've located a gorilla group, you'll spend a thrilling hour observing these gentle giants up close. After your trek, return to your accommodation to rest and recharge. If you've finished early and are feeling energetic, consider adding an optional community visit or short nature walk (at extra cost) to your day, arranged by your guide.

With a 70% chance of spotting these incredible creatures, we'll keep our fingers crossed for a spectacular sighting. If we're lucky, we'll witness these majestic felines lounging in the branches - a truly unforgettable experience. After checking in at the lodge and enjoying lunch and a brief rest, we'll set out on an exhilarating game drive, spotting other wildlife such as Uganda kobs, Cape buffaloes, elephants, and warthogs. Upon arrival, we'll check in and take a break until lunch. In the afternoon, around 3 pm, we'll venture out on a thrilling game drive in the Kasenyi plains, where we'll have the opportunity to spot an array of wildlife, including lions, the elusive leopard, elephants, buffaloes, and many more. Alternatively, you may opt for the Queen's explosion crater drive, a sightseeing experience offering breathtaking views of the park's stunning scenery. After a fulfilling day, we'll return to the lodge for dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.

Start your day with an early breakfast, then embark on a thrilling morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. Keep your eyes peeled for an array of wildlife, including Cape buffaloes, elephant herds, lions, leopards (though elusive), and many more. After a morning of adventure, return to your accommodation for some well-deserved rest and lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing 2-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lakes George and Edward. After a fulfilling encounter, we'll embark on a transfer to Kibale Forest National Park, checking in at an accommodation on the park's edge. We'll enjoy lunch and a brief rest at the property before venturing out to explore the Bigodi Wetland, renowned for its incredible biodiversity. This haven for primates and birdwatchers is home to species like black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L'Hoest's monkeys, and baboons, as well as a vibrant array of birdlife. After a wonderful time in Bigodi, we'll return to the lodge for dinner and a peaceful overnight stay
Our next destination on this unforgettable gorilla tour and affordable African safari is the breathtaking Murchison Falls National Park. After breakfast, we'll check out and embark on a scenic journey to this incredible park, known for its thundering rapids, rolling plains, and diverse wildlife. As we explore Uganda's largest National Park, we'll have the opportunity to spot an array of animals, including lions, leopards, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephants, among others. Bird enthusiasts will be thrilled to know that Murchison Falls is home to over 450 bird species, including the grey parrot, dwarf kingfisher, and Goliath heron. We'll enjoy lunch en route, taking in the stunning scenery that will leave us in awe throughout the drive.

These incredible creatures roam freely across the Savannah grasslands, making the park's landscape a thrilling game viewing experience. To maximize our time, we'll head to Red Chilli for a hot lunch, followed by the second leg of our game drive. After a fulfilling day of encounters, we'll return to the lodge to freshen up and relax before dinner and our overnight stay. On the 11th day of this affordable African safari package, we'll embark on an early morning journey (around 6am) to the breathtaking Kidepo Valley National Park. After arriving, we'll take some time to rest and enjoy lunch before venturing out on an exciting game drive in the Narus Valley, located in the park's south sector. This stunning region boasts a unique blend of savannah grasslands and acacia woodland, with permanent water sources throughout the year, attracting an abundance of wildlife. As we explore Narus Valley, keep your eyes peeled for large herds of buffaloes, elephants, zebras, various antelope species, lions, and the elusive leopards. If our journey takes us to the Kidepo River Valley, we'll indulge in a scenic stroll along the river's expansive white sandbed or wander through the picturesque borassus palm forest, reminiscent of an oasis in the Sahara. Later in the afternoon, we'll return to the Narus Valley for another thrilling encounter with Africa's wildlife. Finally, we'll return to our accommodation for dinner and a peaceful overnight stay.
Our next destination on this affordable Africa safari is Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, a conservation success story that has helped save Uganda's near-extinct rhino population. We'll depart early, around 6:30 or 7am, and head to Ziwa, where we'll check in and take some time to rest. Later, at 4pm, we'll embark on a guided nature walk through the sanctuary, offering a unique opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife and experience the beauty of nature up close. As we walk, we'll breathe in the fresh air, soak in the stunning scenery, and simply enjoy being in nature. After our walk, we'll return to the lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening.
- Following breakfast, we'll head to the rangers' point, where we'll embark on an exciting on-foot rhino tracking adventure, lasting about an hour. After this thrilling experience, we'll drive to Entebbe for a drop-off at the airport or your booked hotel.
