Tour Plan

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK) which caters to domestic flights, you will be met by your guide who will drive you to your accommodation in Arusha. Your overnight stay will be at the Mount Meru Hotel Situated at the foothills of Mount Meru in the city of Arusha, the Mount Meru Hotel lies on 15 acres of serene and lush landscape, awaiting for the start of your adventure the following day.

After breakfast, your private guide will drive you from Arusha to the Sinya Private Wildlife Conservancy in Western Kilimanjaro. This 600 sq km concession borders Kenya’s Amboseli National Park and offers stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru, Ol Doinyo Longido, and Ol Doinyo Orok. It provides a unique blend of nature and culture, where the Maasai still live traditionally, largely untouched by mass tourism. Visitors can enjoy game drives, guided walking safaris with Maasai warriors, and authentic cultural interactions, including ceremonies when available. This community conservation project directly benefits the local Maasai. You will spend two days here, with meals and overnight stays at Kambi ya Tembo Tented Camp.

You will be picked up by your private guide from western Kilimanjaro and drive about 2.5 hours to Tarangire National Park. Known for its high elephant density, the park features sparse vegetation dotted with baobab and acacia trees. Wildlife gathers along the river, including giraffes, bushbucks, hartebeests, buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeest, often followed by predators like lions and leopards. Enjoy game viewing from the open-roof vehicle and a picnic lunch in the park. After a full day, continue to Lake Burunge Tented Lodge for dinner, relaxation, and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, drive 120km west of Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse reserve centered around a shallow alkaline lake. The park hosts thousands of flamingos and over 500 bird species. During your game drive, expect to see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, elephants, and possibly tree-climbing lions. Its landscapes range from open plains to woodlands and baobab-studded cliffs. After lunch and exploration, continue to Marera Valley Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, continue to the fertile highlands where the Iraqw people cultivate wheat and corn. En route, pass through the misty rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with chances to spot baboons, and possibly leopards or elephants in the dense vegetation. As you travel through, enjoy views of the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater before proceeding to Serengeti National Park, arriving by midday. Tanzania’s largest park offers diverse landscapes, including plains, swamps, lakes, savannahs, and mountains. After an extensive game drive, head to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay at Embalakai Camp.

Serengeti National Park is one of the world’s most renowned wildlife sanctuaries, celebrated for its natural beauty and unmatched concentration of plains game. Spend the day exploring its vast, endless plains, home to abundant wildlife including impalas, buffaloes, crocodiles, and hippos. The park is most famous for the Great Migration, where over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras move seasonally across the ecosystem, driven by ancient instinct. They travel south during the short rains and return north after the long rains, crossing diverse habitats and perilous rivers. Meals and overnight stay will be at Embalakai Camp.

After breakfast, enjoy an en-route game drive through the Serengeti, with chances to spot the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard—before continuing to Ngorongoro Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site, formed millions of years ago, is 600 m deep and spans about 260 square kilometers. Its dense population of around 25,000 animals offers exceptional game viewing. Arrive at the Crater rim before lunch, then descend to spot wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, elephants, and over 500 bird species. With luck, see the endangered black rhino. After lunch and an afternoon game drive, proceed to Karatu Simba Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before driving back to Arusha for a hot lunch. Later, transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward flight home or to Zanzibar.
