7 Days- Kidepo Valley National Park Safari

Begin the day with an early morning game drive along the northern track, where we will search for ostriches and cheetahs. Next, we will visit the Kanangorok hot springs, located near the South Sudan border. On our journey, we will cross the Kidepo River, a prime spot for birdwatching and observing various wildlife. After lunch, we will set off for a cultural village tour. This guided tour will immerse you in the lifestyle of the Karamajong people, whose culture is akin to the renowned Masai nomadic pastoralists. The Karamajong live in communities with several homesteads (manyattas) and cattle kraals. A highlight of the tour is the "Karamajong traditional dance," a spirited and captivating performance.

Start the day with a morning game drive, followed by a transfer from Kidepo to Kotido. Enjoy a second game drive for more wildlife viewing along the way. In the evening, visit Nakapelimoru Village, home to the Jie Clan of the Karamajong people. Overnight stay in Kotido.

Early in the morning, we will depart for a scenic walk through the lush valley of Mt. Moroto, the highest mountain in Karamoja. During the walk, we will interact with the So Tepeth mountain people. After lunch, we will head to an authentic Karamojong village where you can immerse yourself in the daily life of the community. Activities include participating in traditional games, preparing staple foods, harvesting, beading, dancing, learning how to shoot a bow and arrow, and traditional friendly wrestling. We will spend the night in Pian Upe National Reserve.

Begin the day with a game drive in Pian Upe, Uganda’s second largest protected area. The park, surrounded by mountain ranges and water bodies, is a birding hotspot and home to endemic wildlife species like the Roan Antelope, as well as an archaeological site for rock paintings. Other wildlife in the reserve includes giraffes, lions, leopards, zebras, buffaloes, and more. Pian Upe is also an excellent destination for birding safaris, with a variety of amazing bird species such as ostriches, Jackson’s hornbills, and white-headed buffalo-weavers, best viewed in the Loporokocho swamp. Additionally, the reserve harbors primates like vervet monkeys and olive baboons. After the game viewing, transfer to Sipi Falls for an overnight stay.

Upon arriving in Sipi town, you will be greeted with breathtaking views of the Karamoja plains. Early in the morning, after breakfast, a local guide will meet you and provide a briefing about the hike to the last of the three Sipi waterfalls. Sipi Falls is a hiker’s paradise, ready to be explored. You will begin your walk down to the falls, passing through local communities. Along your journey, you'll traverse lush farms, coffee plantations, and homes. In the afternoon, transfer to Jinja for an overnight stay.

Start your day with an early morning breakfast before transferring to the starting point for white water rafting. There, you'll receive a session of exercises and safety tips to prepare for the adventure. Embark on the boat and tackle the rapids of the mighty River Nile. Depending on your water experience, you can choose between grade 3 and grade 5 rapids. The experience is challenging for first-timers but thrilling and memorable. After the rafting adventure, transfer back to Kampala, with en route visits to the source of the Nile, the world’s longest river, and Sezibwa Falls.
