Tour Plan
Upon arrival, you will be picked up either from your hotel or the airport. Your designated, professional English-speaking tour guide-driver will meet you and begin your transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – one of Uganda’s top tourist destinations. The park showcases diverse ecosystems that support an array of wildlife, including ten primate species, over 600 bird species, and classic big game. A stop for lunch is scheduled along the way, after which you enter the beautiful Queen Elizabeth NP, arriving in the late afternoon (evening) to simply check in and relax. Note: If you have spare time upon reaching, a late-afternoon-to-evening game drive is an option.
Rise early to enjoy your breakfast before setting off on a morning game drive through the Kasenyi plains. Remain observant for Cape buffalos, elephant herds, lions, and elusive leopards among other wildlife. Later, return to your accommodation to relax and have lunch. Afterward, embark on a two-hour boat ride along the Kazinga Channel that links Lakes George and Edward. During this journey, be captivated by sightings of giant hippos, elephants, and crocodiles, along with diverse birdlife along the shores. After the boat trip, you may choose to head back to the lodge for some rest or indulge in a brief late-afternoon game drive before returning.
Begin your day with a relaxed breakfast before departing for the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, renowned for its tree-climbing lions. There's roughly a 60-70% chance of spotting these lions, though they may be elusive when hunting in the grasslands; however, witnessing them perched in the trees is both picturesque and unforgettable. From Ishasha, continue to the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park—after a strenuous day, you'll simply check in to your accommodation and unwind as you prepare for tomorrow’s Bwindi gorilla trekking.
*Optional (extra cost $130): For those interested, a chimp tracking excursion in Kyambura Gorge is available before driving off to Ishasha; please note that a permit must be secured in advance.
Enjoy your breakfast before heading to the rangers’ post for a briefing on trekking dos and don’ts. Then, set off into the Bwindi Forest, where the spectacular rainforest displays a steep, dense landscape crisscrossed by animal trails. The trek’s pace and route vary with the movements of these majestic primates. Once you spot a gorilla group, you'll have an hour to experience their gentle presence—a truly unforgettable encounter with these endangered giants. Afterward, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, bordered by lush, green-terraced hills that reach 2,200 to 2,478 meters. It's the 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the lake that add a magical touch—one that will captivate you for hours.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your accommodation with a breathtaking view of the Bunyonyi little islands before setting off for Entebbe Airport. En route, you'll have a lunch stop and a visit to the Uganda Equator line in Kayabwe—an ideal moment for capturing memorable photos and exploring unique art pieces. You will then continue until arriving in the late afternoon or evening for your airport drop-off, all in time for your flight home (recommended for 18:00 onwards).
