Safari Overview

This Kenya and Tanzania fly-in migration safari visits two of East Africa’s most iconic safari areas. Depending on the time of year, you may have the chance to witness the migration in one or both areas, as you’re perfectly positioned for a famous river crossing. Driving between the Masai Mara and the Serengeti is long and tiring, leaving little time for actual wildlife viewing so to make the most of these areas, flying in is the way to go.

Day 01 :

Arrive in Nairobi and Fly to Masai Mara National Reserve

Upon arrival in Kenya, enjoy a VIP greeting and assistance through immigration before your flight to the Masai Mara. You’ll be met and transferred to Basecamp Masai Mara, a charming retreat nestled along the Talek River. Set within a lush forest, the camp offers a vibrant atmosphere rich in birdlife. Your safaris will venture into the Masai Mara National Reserve, renowned for its spectacular and high-density wildlife encounters. It is a seamless and exciting start to your Kenyan adventure, perfectly positioned for world-class game viewing.

Day 02-03 :

On Safari in the Masai Mara

Spend two full days exploring the Masai Mara's legendary plains with morning and afternoon game drives. This iconic reserve is home to the Big Five and, from August to November, offers a spectacular chance to witness the Great Migration. For a deeper connection to the region, you can opt for an authentic Maasai village visit, a guided bush walk, or a breathtaking sunrise hot air balloon flight (at additional cost). Our specialists ensure your safari is expertly timed and positioned to capture the very best of Kenya's vibrant and untamed wilderness.

Day 04 :

Fly to the Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, enjoy a seamless flight across the border into the Northern Serengeti, maximising your time for wildlife viewing. You'll settle into Lemala Kuria Hills, a sophisticated tented lodge in a more secluded sector of the park. Renowned for its exceptional year-round game and high-density predator sightings, this area also offers the chance to witness the Great Migration between July and November. This unhurried, elevated safari experience provides a tranquil base from which to explore one of the Serengeti's most pristine and dramatic regions.

Day 05 :

On safari in Northern Reaches of the Serengeti

Spend your day in the Serengeti on twice-daily shared game drives, witnessing Africa’s most celebrated wildlife in a spectacular natural setting. Depending on the season, you may observe the high-stakes drama of the Great Migration as millions of wildebeest and zebra traverse the plains. A highlight is the perilous crossing of the Mara River, where herds brave powerful currents and lurking crocodiles while predators patrol the banks. Whether tracking big cats or observing the massive scale of the migration, your safari offers a profound and thrilling encounter with the wild.

Day 06 :

Departure

Spend your final day with a morning game drive before a flight back to Arusha/Kilimanjaro Airport. We can also arrange extensions to this trip, such as further safari destinations in Tanzania or a flight to some of Tanzania's stunning coastal destinations.
