The cost of gorilla permits in Uganda is currently set at $800 per person (Age 15 +), with no discounts offered anymore during the rainy seasons. However, permits may be more readily available on short notice during these periods (March to May and October to November).

For those seeking a more immersive experience, a habituation program in Rushaga, southern Bwindi, offers up to 4 hours of observation with a gorilla family, ideal for wildlife photographers and enthusiasts, at a cost of $1,500 per person.
Please note that gorilla permits are non-refundable, but the Uganda Wildlife Authority offers a 50% refund if a gorilla sighting is not successful, although this is a very rare occurrence.
