Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport or at a hotel in Entebbe/ Kampala, one of our expert driver guides will welcome you and transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The scenic 7-9 hour journey along the Kampala-Masaka route will take you through stunning countryside landscapes.
En route, make a fascinating stop at the Equator, a unique geographical landmark. After this incredible experience, we'll head to our accommodation on the edge of Bwindi National Park, our base for tomorrow's thrilling gorilla trekking adventure.
After breakfast, we'll head to the rangers' post for a comprehensive briefing from our ranger-guide on the essential guidelines for gorilla trekking.
Then, we'll venture into the stunning rainforest, navigating the dramatic, steeply forested landscape and dense foliage, following animal trails that allow access to tourists. The trek's duration (4-8 hours) and terrain will depend on the movements of these magnificent primates. Once we locate a gorilla group, we'll spend an unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants.
After our thrilling adventure, we'll return to our accommodation to rest and relax. If we finish early and you're up for more, we can arrange an optional community visit or a short nature walk along a forest trail (at an additional cost).
Depart for Entebbe or Kigali in the morning, depending on your scheduled destination. If heading to Rwanda, consider a poignant stop at the Genocide Memorial en route, a meaningful opportunity to pay respects and reflect on the country's history.
